purpose?

im standing here in the sunlight
with my bright cardboard sign
sparkle tipped pens
have drizzled all over it
leaving designs  that jump
out at you and over you
like liquid rainbows
bouncing between the passerbys
i'm here standing with my welcome sign
waiting for godot.

its a famous existentialist play
the whole thing is two guys sitting on a random street corner waiting for godot. but they dont know him. they dont know why they are waiting for him what he looks like waht day it is or what day to meet him...

you should read it. its amazing.

don't just wait; pursue him.

waiting for that no-man.

we read this in drama.

and i was struck by the sheer. absurdity, hopelessness of it.

and then.
i realized.
that's what i'm
complacently waiting for.
sitting on a stump.
in the middle of a forest.
spouting absurdities.
clueless.

exactly.

how often do we sit there.
wondering where life is taking us
and what the plan is
only to realize

that we are waiting for godot.
